How to Help Your Child

  • Practise mental maths (little and often is best), including applying skills to word problems.
  • Encourage joined up writing that is consistent in size and sits on the line.
  • Try to read with your child everyday, this is the best way to build their confidence.
  • Keep up-to-date with communication from school via Class Dojo and the Newsletters.

General Information

Homework:

Homework will be handed out on a Friday and collected on a Wednesday. This will usually be one reading book and one piece of either maths related work or topic related work.

Reading diaries:

Please read with your child every night (or as often as possible) for at least 10 minutes. You need to make a record in their reading diary at least once a week. Reading folders need to be sent in on a Wednesday in order for books to be changed. New reading books will then be sent home on Friday.

PE days and required kit:

Due to current restrictions please could the children come to school on the following days wearing their P.E kits.

        day groups)

  • Shorts/trousers depending on the weather.
  • A jumper if it is cold
  • Trainers
  • Hair tied back

( At the moment P.E is just taking place outdoors so please make sure your child has suitable kit)

Lunch:

Lunches are prepared by the school kitchen staff, who will offer one hot and one cold option.  Lunch needs to be paid for in advance via the SQUID system.
